Campaign

Direct Line started in 1985, Direct Line’s aim has always been to put the customer first. This began with cutting out the middleman, the forms and the jargon — all revolutionary changes in insurance at the time. Now providing insurance to millions of customers, and not just car insurance but home, car, life, pet and many more. But now… Directline says goodbye to Winston Wolfe. Many clients choose to move on at a comparable period of change, but there was only excellent work done on Direct Line to date which made this huge task even more daunting.

This campaign was a year in the making and included a complete brand refresh, overhaul of every single branded asset in their business and had Hollywood-sized boots to fill. From TV ads, Digital, Print to Extreme OOH formats, animation and Branding. Also Premium OOH formats that were bespoke designs for specific locations around the UK.

I lightly explored the brand identity refresh but mainly focused on developing the Superheroes campaign with the team, taking it from conceptual ideas right through to the final delivery. I was lucky enough to work as a designer from the beginning, working with a senior art director, Nathan Crawford, creative team Will Helm & Will Brockwell and CD Frankie Goodwin.
